Waltner, LaNae Eisenbeis, 85, of Freeman passed away on Feb. 17 at the Freeman Hospital. Burial will take place at 10 am on Monday Feb. 22at the Salem Zion Mennonite (North) Church Cemetery, followed by an 11 am Memorial Service at the church. Visitation with the family present will be on Sunday Feb. 21 from 5-7 pm at the Walter Funeral Home in Freeman.
LaNae, 85, died February 17th of heart failure at Freeman Community Hospital. She was born September 14th, 1930 in rural Freeman to Richard Eisenbeis and Olga Schrag.
She grew up on the farm and attended Freeman Academy. In midlife she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Library Science at the University of South Dakota.
She was baptized at Salem Zion Mennonite Church where she was a life long member and on August 20th, 1952, she was married there to LaVerne Waltner by Rev. Ronald VonRiesen. To this union four children were born.
They lived on a farm and in 1960 the family moved to Freeman. She was a homemaker and devoted wife involved in the church and community. She later worked as a librarian at Freeman Public Library and Freeman Academy Archives.
She was enthusiastic, energetic and loved life. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, quilting, gardening, motorcycling, the outdoors and was an avid reader.
She was married to LaVerne for 57 years and is survived by her three children: Susan (Ray) Zurawski, De Pere, WI; Michael, Denver, CO; Lynda (Max) Stucky, Pittsburgh, PA; Five grandchildren: Adam Waltner, Benjamin, Abraham and Samuel Stucky, and Alexandra Zurawski; sister-in-laws, Ruby Waltner, Freeman, SD and Belva Unruh, North Newton, KS.
Preceding her in death were her husband LaVerne, son LaMarr, brother Lane, brothers-in-law Homer and Don Waltner and Verney Unruh; sister-in-law Martha Waltner and daughter-in-law Alberta Sanchez.

Waltner, LaNae, 85, of Freeman, SD died February 17, 2016. She was born to Richard and Olga (Schrag) Eisenbeis. She was married to LaVerne Waltner, who is deceased.
Surviving are children, Susan Zurawski, Michael Waltner, and Lynda Stucky.
A son, LaMarr Waltner preceded her in death.

Born in Brecknock Township, she was the daughter of the late Daniel G. and Jannie B. Martin Wanner.
Mary worked for the Ephrata Moyer Garment Factory and prior to that she worked for the Spring Glen Farm Kitchens.
She was a member of the Chapman Old Order Mennonite Church.
Mary was deeply loved by her surviving family including four sisters, Ella Rissler, Ada Martin, and Barbara Wanner, all of Ephrata, PA and Anna Martin of Kentucky. Also surviving are four sisters-in-law, Martha Wanner, Tennesse, Sadie Wanner of Ephrata, Ruth Wanner and Anna Mary Wanner, both of Port Trevorton, PA, and two brothers, Martin, husband of Sally (Martin) Wanner and John, husband of Rose (Stauffer) Wanner, also of Port Trevorton, PA. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry, Daniel, William, Aaron and Samuel and three brothers-in-law, Daniel Rissler, Ivan Martin, and Levi Martin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Funeral Service from the Chapman Old Order Mennonite Church, 2410 Black Woods Road, Port Trevorton, PA on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. (STANDARD). Interment will take place at the Chapman Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Martha Waughtel, 98, of Lemoyne, PA passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 in her home with her family surrounding her. She was a daughter of the late, Martha (Hollenbach) and Samual Homsher born in Pequea, Lancaster County, PA on February 4, 1918.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy M. Waughtel, Sr., her daughter, Peggy Lee Fredrick, and four Infant Children.
Martha is survived by her children; LeRoy M Waughtel, Jr. of Willow Street, Shirley H. Abate wife of Sal, of Lemoyne, Edward Waughtel of Penbrook, Dorothy (Dottie) Parker wife of Earl of Duncannon, and Ida Weidenhof of Enola, sister, Effie Hicks wife of Harry from Middletown. Martha has many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who loved her very much.
Martha lived life enjoying her family, birds, movies, soap operas, and word search books, and claimed the kitchen as her domain to keep tidy. Martha was very close to her God and read her Bible daily.
Graveside service will be held at 9:00 am Friday, April 29, 2016 at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, 1918 E Lincoln Hwy, Lancaster, PA 17602. A memorial service will immediately follow at 10:00 am at the Willow Street Mennonite Church, 399 E. Penn Grant Road, Willow Street, PA 17584.
Weaver, Ammon H., 66, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in his home.
He was born July 14, 1950 in Ephrata, Lancaster County. Ammon was a son of Annie Hoover Weaver of Orrstown, and the late John D. Weaver. One brother, Raymond Weaver and grandson, Eldon Weaver are also deceased.
Ammon was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Edna Z. Oberholtzer Weaver, four sons, Lester E. (husband of Miriam) Weaver, Jason R. (husband of Wilma) Weaver, and Ammon L. (husband of Erma) Weaver all of Shippensburg, and Steven L. (Husband of Mary) Weaver of Georgetown, OH, five daughters, Wilma (wife of Landis) Weaver of Orrstown, Marian (wife of Marlin) Nolt, Norene (wife of Laverne) Sensenig, Carolyn (wife of Michael Hurst and Rose (wife of Lawrence) Weaver all of Shippensburg, six brothers, Isaac (husband of Mildred) Weaver, John Dan (husband of Stella) Weaver, Noah Weaver, Luke (husband Vera) Weaver, and Ethan Weaver all of PA, and Alvin (husband of Emma) Weaver of MO, six sisters, Anna Weaver, Lydia (wife of Ammon) Zimmerman, and Maryann (wife of Mark) Nolt all of PA, Martha (wife of Roy) Hoover of KY, Lovina (wife of Elvin) Zimmerman of TN, and Elsie (wife of Elam) Shirk of PA, 54 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church, Duncan Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257 with Bishop James Shirk officiating. Burial will be held in the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, December 26, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. in the family's home, 108 Booz Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.

Tony lived in the Gap area most of his life and was a 1981 graduate of the Pequea Valley High School. He was employed by Quad Graphics of Atglen as an assistant operator.
He is survived, in addition to his parents, by three sons: Anthony Scott Weaver of Parkesburg, Adam J. Weaver and wife Jennifer of Atglen and Austin T. Weaver of Lebanon; two grandsons, Jonathan Russell and Blake Weaver and three siblings, Judy Landis of Leola, Joe Weaver, II of Pittsburgh and Joan Denlinger of Lancaster.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 12:00 noon from the Old Road Mennonite Church, 5795 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, PA followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10 AM to 12:00 noon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.

With sadness in our hearts we announce that our mother, Barbara Horning Weaver, passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2016.
Barbara, daughter of Grace Nissly Horning and Titus Horst Horning, spent her childhood in the beautiful farmland of Lancaster County. She attended Garden Spot High School and completed two master's degrees at La Salle University and the University of Denver. Fluent in Spanish and licensed as a social worker, she dedicated her life to helping children and families around the country and the world. Since the late 1980s, she lived in Colorado where she enjoyed the fresh air and gorgeous views of the Rocky Mountains, and built her own business, Adoption Journey. With an adventurous spirit and a love of traveling, she visited and worked in over twenty different countries across four continents, including a thirty-day stay in Nicaragua in 2016 and a term with Mennonite Central Committee with her family in Zambia from 1974 to 1976.
Barbara will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and friends from around the world. She will be remembered as a smart and independent person with a willingness to help others in any way she could. She lives through her daughter Ann Lau Ward; her daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Weaver and Peter Kaufman; her son, Zachary Weaver; her daughter, Ludmyla Grace Weaver; and her two grandchildren, Ho Hong Lau and Ho An Lau.

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Abram B. and Alta (Shirk) Weaver.
Charles worked as a crane operator for Lukens Steel for over 39 years, retiring in 1996. In his spare time he enjoyed rose gardening, riding motorcycles, listening to country music, visiting Ocean City, MD and Florida, and spending time with his family. Charles was a member of Bridgeville E. C. Church and the Steelworkers Union.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by two children: Yvonne L. Reed of Gordonville and Charles K. Weaver, husband of Lori (Shingle), of Lancaster; a sister, Alta Mae Patterson, wife of Richard, of Narvon; and six grandchildren: Lindsay, Cierria, Abby, Jentzen, Brittany, and Eriaunna.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Pauline Stockdale, Albert Weaver, Raymond Weaver, and Mark Weaver.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Bridgeville Evangelical Congregational Church, 5971 Division Highway, Narvon PA 1755 with Pastor Kirk Wolfe officiating. Born in Elverson, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Hettie Ann (Weaver) Hurst.
She was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Lancaster Conference and worked as a homemaker and co-founder of Weaver's Store Inc., Fivepointville. In her spare time she enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, traveling, and flower tending.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven children: Janet Sensenig, wife of Lowell, Mohnton, PA, Melvin H. Weaver, husband of Jeanette, Reinholds, PA, Irvin Weaver, Jr., husband of Karen, Denver, PA, Ruthann Wile, wife of the late Dan Wile, Denver, PA, W. Elwood, along with his father, started Weaver Hatchery, which he owned and operated for more than 30 years. He later worked for Trumbo Appliance Inc. He was an honest and caring businessman who went out of his way to please his customers. Customer satisfaction and service, not money, was his focus. He was a people person. Elwood was a charter member of the Chicago Avenue Mennonite Church, where he was very active. As a member of the Harrisonburg Mennonite Church, he and his wife served on a visitation team for the elderly. He was a private pilot and became licensed in the 1940s. He greatly enjoyed camping with his family, where he built many special memories.
On Dec. 25, 1942, he married the former Ruth Louise Hartman, who preceded him in death on April 2, 2012.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his children, Jerrel “Jerry” Weaver and wife, Wendy, of Harrisonburg, Ken Weaver and wife, Kathy, of Harrisonburg, Diane Yoder and husband, Kent, of Harrisonburg, and Susan Eshleman and husband, Keith, of Landisville, Pa.; two sisters, Lorene Suter and husband, Jerrel, and Charlene Kiser, both of Stuarts Draft; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Weaver of Lyndhurst and Patricia “Pat” Weaver of Stuarts Draft; 11 grandchildren, Kristin Miller and husband, Peter, Kelly Richardson and husband, John, Matthew Weaver and wife, Michelle, Michelle Nussbaum and husband, Chad, Max Weaver and friend, Ling, Betty Weaver, Justin Yoder and wife, Heather, Todd Yoder, Bryce Yoder, Briana Miller and husband, Darrel, and Jenna Hoover and husband, Nathan; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph Weaver, J.H. Weaver Jr., Nancy Barnhart and her husband, Paul, and brother-in-law, Roy D. Kiser.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Harrisonburg Mennonite Church with Pastors Mark Keller and Shirlee K. Yoder officiating. The burial will be held privately.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church.

Weaver, Elwood Daniel, 94, of Harrisonburg, VA died September 13, 2013 at the same place. He was born December 25, 1921 at Augusta Co., VA to Jason Hartman and Maria Elizabeth (Martin) Weaver. On December 25, 1942 he was married to Ruth Louise Hartman, who died April 2, 2012.
Surviving are children, Jerrel "Jerry" Weaver and wife Wendy, Ken Weaver and wife Kathy, Diane Yoder and husband Kent, and Susan Eshleman and husband Keith; eleven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Lorene Suter and husband Jerrel, Charlene Kiser, and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Weaver and Patricia "Pat Weaver.

Weaver, Gladys M., of Leola, passed away on her 76th birthday, August 13, 2016 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Sadie Weaver.
She grew up at Weaver's Orchard, worked at various sewing factories and was employed at Shipley Oil as manager of Highland Acres. She enjoyed baking and helping her granddaughters at market. She was known by her family as the "Weather Mom". Gladys attended New Life AOG and she would always have her radio tuned to Southern Gospel Music.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Eberly of Leola and Donna wife of Norman Stoltzfoos of Denver. Her grandchildren will remember how she loved each one of them; Charity wife of Josh Brubaker, Hope wife of JR Glick, Phil fiancé of Alexis Angelucci, Joey, Caleb, Faith, Abby and great-grandson, Jase Brubaker. Also surviving are brothers, Allen Weaver and Harold (Ida) Weaver; previous husband, James Leroy Eberly. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marian.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola from 6-8:00 pm.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn son and six siblings: Willis S. Stauffer, Elsie S. Martin, Phares S. Stauffer, Henry S. Stauffer, Florence S. Stauffer and Louella S. Stauffer.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Blue Ball Mennonite Church with Bishop Ray Weaver, Elmer Zimmerman, Arnold Martin and Phil Towles officiating. Interment will be in Pike Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Monday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 – 10 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.

ELKHART - Howard M. Weaver, 93, of Elkhart, formerly of Goshen, died Monday, Feb. 22, at the Beardsley House in Elkhart.
Howard was born Jan. 22, 1923, in Elkhart, to the late Amzey D. and Bessie F. (Grosh) Weaver.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James O. and Donald R. Weaver.
On June 3, 1950, in Elkhart, he married the former Maxine B. Woodiwiss. Maxine died Sept. 8, 2009.
Surviving are three daughters, Jean Ann Jacobsen (Jake) of Mills River, N.C., Kathy Jo Kee (Robert) of Travelers Rest, S.C., and Connie Coleen Miller (David) of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold L. Weaver (Mary) of Elkhart and Richard A. (Dorothy) Weaver of Colorado.
Howard was a graduate of Elkhart High School and attended Goshen College prior to beginning his work career. He held various jobs throughout his life, including working for Eby's Guernsey Dairy for five years as a milkman; Henry Weis Manufacturing for 23 years as a draftsman; Kelsey Axle and Brake, where he was a draftsman for six years; and Gunite, where he worked for four years in quality control before retiring in 1989.
Mr. Weaver was an active member of the Prairie Street Mennonite Church, where he taught Sunday school, was a member of the choir, was an elder for 11 years, was a boys club leader and was involved with the Mission Commission. Howard also served for three years in Civilian Public Service in the United States, and for two years he performed foreign relief work in the Netherlands and Germany under the Mennonite Central Committee.
Visitation for Howard will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Friends may also call one hour prior to services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Prairie Street Mennonite Church with Pastor David Swihart officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Howard may be sent to the Mennonite Central Committee.

Howard Weaver - Jan. 22,1923-Feb. 22,2016 which was Sat. at Prairie St Mennonite Church
Howard Menno Weaver was one of five sons born to Amzey and Bessie Weaver. Climbing trees, playing in the fields with his brothers, sandlot ballgames, and canning with his mother kept him busy as a boy. Time spent at his Grandpa Grosh's farm harvesting and selling vegetables door-to-door was also one of his favorite childhood memories. His interests during his teen years included sports, photography, music, and participating in the youth group at his church. His athletic pursuits allowed him to play on both the football and baseball teams of Elkhart High School where he proudly earned his Letter E sweater.
Following his graduation, Howard held jobs at CTS and Elkhart Paint and
Wallpaper, before being called into three years of Civilian Public Service at age 20. In 1943 he helped to build an earthen dam and fight forest fires in South Dakota, and worked in the USDA Dairy Research Center in Maryland in service to his country. After a serious motorcycle accident, which almost claimed his life, he felt directed to help others further in overseas work. In Holland and Germany he was involved in transporting food and clothing supplies and helped with rebuilding following the war. His spirit of adventure also led him to enjoy a motorcycle tour of the Swiss Alps before returning home to the States.
Upon his return, Howard met a beautiful young schoolteacher from North Dakota named Maxine Woodiwiss. They were married in June of 1950, along with two of his brothers that same summer. Jobs held during his married life included being a door-to-door milkman for Eby's Dairy, a draftsman at Henry Weiss Mfg. for 23 years, and working in quality control at Kelsey Axle and Brake. Howard and Maxine enjoyed raising their three daughters - Jean, Kathy, and Connie - giving them a solid home-life based on biblical truth. They developed their family life with purposeful work and play, neighborhood fun, extended family gatherings, vacations, and holiday traditions. Church and the call to reach others for Christ were central. His ministry at Prairie Street Mennonite Church, where he was a lifelong member, included being the first president of the Literary group, Sunday School teacher, boys club leader, choir member, and elder for eleven years. Retirement in 1989 brought the enjoyment of grand parenting and traveling to the Carolinas.
Eventually, in 2004, the couple moved to the Greencroft Retirement Community in Goshen. The names "Howard and Maxine" have intertwined for sixty years. In their home and community, Howard exemplified godly leadership. His humor, his kind and friendly nature encouraged all those whose lives he touched. His Christ-like character allowed him to be a shining example of true servant hood. Now he is
privileged to serve in God's eternal kingdom, home with Jesus, Maxine and many other loved ones.
We can't wait to join you, Dad! With gratitude and praise we, your children and grandchildren, realize we have been blessed beyond measure. We love you!

Weaver, Howard Menno, 93, of Elkhart, Elkhart Co., IN died February 22, 2016 at the same place. He was born January 22, 1923 at Elkhart, IN to Amzey and Bessie (Grosh) Weaver. On June 3, 1950 he was married to Maxine B. Woodiwiss, who died September 8, 2009.
Surviving are children, Jean (Jake) Jacobsen, Kathy Jo (Robert) Kee, and Connie (David) Miller; 11 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Harold (Mary) Weaver, and Richard (Dorothy) Weaver.
Two brothers, James O. Weaver, and Donald R. Weaver preceded him in death.

Mr. Samuel S. Weaver Jr., age 63 of Trenton passed away 12:40 PM Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Skyline Medical Center from injuries he sustained in a tractor accident. Born in Farmersville, she was the daughter of the late Landis and Clara (Rutt) Buchen.
Vera was a homemaker and a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church. She attended and was past president of the Weaverland Sewing Circle. She was known as a great seamstress, quilter and musician, playing and teaching her children to enjoy playing the piano, violin, and singing together as a family. She put her faith in Jesus Christ and prayed daily for each of her family members by name.
Surviving are four children: Marlene married to Kenneth B. Buckwalter, Ephrata; Faye married to Glenn L. Good, Leola; Donna married to Mark B. Van Scyoc, Leola; and Jerry married to Linda (Seiple) Weaver, Leola; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six siblings: Clara Sauder, Thelma Sauder, Rhoda Leaman, Lois Kautz, Laverne Peifer and Curvin Buchen.
She was preceded in death by a son, Galen Weaver and four siblings: Esther Herr, Elizabeth Landis, Kenneth Buchen and Caleb Buchen.

GOSHEN - Vera Mae (Troyer) Weaver, 94, Goshen, died at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Newton, Kan., to Manley Miles and Mary Edna (Reiff) Troyer.
She married James O. Weaver on June 14, 1946, and he died Nov. 9, 2015.
Surviving are sons, Larry Philip (Marge Litwiller) Weaver of Hopedale, Ill., Jon D. (Kathy Yoder) Weaver of Elkhart and Roger D. (Betty Roth) Weaver of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings Margaret Miller of Streetsboro, Ohio and Grace Helmuth of Sagamore Hills, Ohio.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, James, sisters, Fern Erb, Dorothy Miller, Rebecca Bixler and a brother, Darda Troyer.
Vera was a homemaker and attended Elkhart Business University. She did a lot of quilting, crocheting and sewing for the MCC Relief Sale. For years on Thursdays, Vera would visit shut-ins and run errands for people in need. Growing up, Vera was a member at Prairie Street Mennonite Church then later at Locust Grove Mennonite Church and finally at Olive Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Olive Mennonite Church, 61081 C.R. 3, Elkhart, with the service following at 3 p.m. Pastor Kevin Yoder and Pastor Troy Weaver will officiate. He attended Eastern Mennonite College. While serving as a pastor at South Seventh Street Mennonite Church, he taught music, Bible, and shop at three different Christian Day Schools: Conestoga, Ephrata and Gehmans. He also served as a pastor at Rissers Mennonite Church and Dillers Mennonite Church. He was the founding pastor of Halifax Mennonite Community Church during the years he worked for Camp Hebron as program director. Singing and gardening brought him much joy in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Viola; four daughters, Priscilla and husband, Paul Jutzi, of Reading, Pa., Aldine and husband, Jim Musser, Stephens City, Va., Karen Weaver from Harrisonburg, Va., Lucinda and husband, Ralph Swartzentruber, from Keezletown, Va.; and one son, Curt from Portland, Ore., married to Karin; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers, Marvin and Irvin.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at Bowmansville Mennonite Church in Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 9, at 10:30 a.m. Another service will be held at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Detwiler Auditorium on Tuesday, April 12, at 10:15 a.m. William decided to donate his body to Virginia anatomical Program for research; therefore, there will be no viewing. GOSHEN - Miriam R. Weldy, 94, of Goshen, passed away at noon Monday, Feb. 8, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
She was born July 26, 1921, near Wakarusa, to Samuel and Alva (Loucks) Weldy.
She is survived by her brothers, Dale (Helen) Weldy of Archbold, Ohio, and Keith (Carol) Weldy of Marathon, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Alice (Gary) Lehman of Goshen, Kirsten (Dave) Meyer of Archbold, Elizabeth (Bob) Rieth of Union, Mich., Kim (Karin) Weldy of Archbold, Jane Weldy Bickel of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Gerald "Tony" (Glenda) Hurst of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dr. Maurice (Irene) Weldy; and a niece, Charlotte Weldy Hurst.
Miriam was a 1939 graduate of Wakarusa High School. She graduated from Goshen College in 1948 with a B.S. in elementary education. In 1968, she graduated from Ball State University with a master's degree in art.
She was a school teacher for 37 years. Her early years started at Topeka and Jefferson, then 30 years at Concord elementary schools.
She had an enthusiasm for travel, studying cultural and natural resources in many countries across the world and the United States. Her hobby of photography was evident by the many slides of birds, trees, flowers and family. She was an accomplished musician and artist and participated in many different card-playing groups.
Holdeman Mennonite Church was her church for 94 years. She was devoted to the church and shared her gifts by teaching, as songleader, soloist, piano and organ player. In her retired years, she volunteered at Menno-Hof, Shipshewana.
For many years, she shared her artistic ability by arranging flowers for the church. In her younger years, Miriam and a friend drove to Chicago every week for seven years to teach Sunday school at the Chicago Mennonite Mission.
Miriam's enthusiasm for travel, teaching, meeting people and enjoying God's natural beauty was evident in her spontaneous laughter and friendliness. She was a lover of animals, especially for her cat, Scamp.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Holdeman Mennonite Church. Pastor Randy Detweiler and Pastor BJ Leichty will officiate the services. Private burial will take place before the service in Olive (West) Cemetery.

Wenger, Alma Rebecca Hubbard, 85, passed away April 7, 2016. She was born Nov. 9, 1930, in Roanoke County and was a daughter of the late George E. and Ida Mae (Ulrey) Hubbard. On Sept. 15, 1961, she married the late Fred Amos Wenger at the home of the late Elder J.H. Peters in Hollins, Va. Mrs. Wenger was a very accomplished seamstress and a member of the Shenandoah Valley Quilt Guild.
Alma is survived by a son, Roger Lee Wenger and wife, Tonie; a sister Hazel (Hubbard) Beckner; a grandson Waylon M. Wenger; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Wells Hubbard.
The funeral service will be held Sunday April 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Mennonite Church with Timothy Showalter, Elvin Shank and Chad McMurray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday April 9, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Daniel raised chickens on a small farm near Mt. Airy. After retiring from farming, his hobby was purchasing and refinishing furniture to donate to Jubilee Ministries in Lebanon. He loved to travel. He and Mildred volunteered at the Ephrata Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Reuzit Shop and toured with MCC and Mennonite Disaster Service groups in different parts of the country and globe. They took bus trips with Bob Neff Tours. Daniel was a member of Gehman Mennonite Church.In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by 5 children: Daniel K. married to Janet (High) of Denver, PA, Barbara married to Jonas Borntrager of Harrisonburg, VA, Harry married to Bev (Derstine) of Stevens, PA, Rachel Kreamer of Stevens, PA, and Jim married to Vicki (Dietz) of Stuartstown, PA. Dan has 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He took courses at Lancaster Theological Seminary and Albright College, Reading, where he was the oldest member of the Lay School of Theology.
In June of 1946 he opened the Sunoco Station on the square in Blue Ball. In 1951 he became a mechanic at Shirk's Chevrolet in Paradise. He served in the USMC during the Korean War as a shop chief, later becoming the service manager at Messick Chevrolet, Ephrata, then at A.W. Golden Pontiac & Cadillac, Reading, and Whitney Olds & Cadillac, Brownstown.
The last 25 years of his life he worked in outside sales, first at Plain & Fancy Egg Ranch, Elizabethtown, then as sales manager at Gould Battery of Scranton, Grasshopper Mowing Equipment, Mountridge, KS, and with Lawn Care Equipment, Terre Hill. Eli was a member of Sandler Sales System President Club, Baltimore, MD.
He loved his work; threw his heart over the fence for it! He taught Sunday School most of his life, beginning at age 16, preached his first sermon at age 17, served as supply preacher, and correlated Lay Witness Missions with Lay Life of Nashville, TN. Eli was a licensed pilot, an avid reader of history and collected old books. He also volunteered at the Ephrata Cloister and the Historical Society of Cocalico Valley, Ephrata.

He is survived by a son, Daniel L. Wenger, and 2 sisters, Betty, wife of Martin Greider of Lancaster and Susan, wife of Milford Smucker of Harrisburg, OR. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Helen S. (Wenger), wife of Martin Eby of Mohnton, Miriam (Wenger), wife of Dr. John Martin of Lancaster, Arlene (Wenger), wife of Horace Martin of Landis Homes, Lititz.

Mr. Wenger was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul R. Wenger, Reuel D. Wenger and Frank G. Wenger, and two sisters, Martha E. Wenger and Frances E. Rohrer.

Lizzie was a homemaker and a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
Surviving are three sisters and a brother, Nora Hurst of Ephrata, Etta, married to Edwin Horning of Ephrata, Aaron Weaver of Myers-town, and Esther, married to Samuel Horst of Ephrata; two brothers-in-law, Ivan, married to Mary Nolt of Ephrata, and Michael, married to Minnie Horning of Myerstown; a sister-in-law, Thelma, married to Harry Good of Newmanstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are three sisters, Mary Hoover, Anna Nolt, and Mabel Horning; two brothers, Raymond Weaver, and Joseph Weaver; a sister-in-law, Joyce (Musser) Weaver; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Hurst.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 9 am at Fairmount Homes, Farmcrest Chapel with further services at 9:30 am at Groffdale Mennonite Church with the Bishop Curvin Zimmerman officiating. WAKARUSA - Marion Pauline Wenger, 90, of Wakarusa, died at 8:23 a.m. Friday, June 10, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Markham, Ontario, to Carl and Annie (Wideman) Reesor.
She married Norman R. Wenger on Oct. 18, 1952, and he died Oct. 10, 1993.
Surviving are her seven children, Phyllis (Dave) Kulp of New Paris, Herbert (Eileen) Wenger of Union, Mich., David (Sheryl) Wenger of Marlette, Mich., Nancy Wenger of Wakarusa, Andrew (Diana) Wenger of Goshen, Douglas (Sally) Wenger of Wakarusa and Patricia (Nathan) Stoltzfus of Honeybrook, Pa.; three brothers, John (Anna) Reesor, Harold (Stella) Reesor, and Kenneth (Esther) Reesor, all of Stouffville, Ontario; four sisters, Marie Brubaker of Elora, Ontario, Evelyn (Art) Byer of Stouffville, Nancy (Owen) Witmer, Columbiana, Ohio and Kathryn Morrison of Stouffville; 33 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She owned and operated FarmWood Bed and Breakfast. Marion was a member of Wisler Mennonite Church, Goshen.

HOMER, Mich. - Menas A. Wickey, 78, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1.
He was born July 28, 1938, to the late August D. and Emma H. (Schwartz) Wickey.
He married Susan N. Schwartz; she survives.
Surviving also are 13 children, Marcus, Alan, Lester, David, Phenis, Daniel, Emma and Mary Anne Wickey, Bertha and Ruth Yoder, Ruby Shetler, Elsie and Carol Schwartz,; 86 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; brothers Corneal of LaGrange and Pheneas Wickey; sisters Susan Schmidt, Lucinda Schwartz, Ruth Beachy, Mary Coblentz, Delilah and Clara Eicher.
Preceding him in death were six grandchildren, his parents and three brothers.

Mildred Mae Wiens, 90, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion, SD. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Monday, January 25, 2016 at Salem Zion Mennonite Church (North), rural Freeman, SD. Visitation with family present will be from 2-4pm Sunday at the Tieszen Home Chapel, Marion. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home.
Mildred was born on July 2, 1925 at Marion, SD to Isaac and Marie (Graber) Berg. She grew up in the Marion area and graduated from Marion High School in 1943. On November 19, 1944 she was united in marriage to Harvey Wiens. They were married for 69 years. She was baptized by the Rev. H Albert Classen at the Salem Zion Mennonite Church where as an adult Mildred chaired and participated in many church committees. Mildred was a farmer's wife for 16 years and after moving to Freeman she cooked at various restaurants and was known for her delicious pies. For 9 years Mildred was a co-truck driver with her husband who was an owner/operator driver for Midwest Coast Transport. They enjoyed their time on the road and yet always made time for fishing, camping and family. Mildred was always ready to play a game of cards or a board game, that was her favorite past time. Harvey and Mildred lived near Freeman most of their life and after retirement enjoyed spending twenty winters in Mission, TX. Mildred and Harvey became residents at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion, SD in 2009.

SHIPSHEWANA — Kendon James Wingard, 6, of Shipshewana, died at 11:48 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at IU Health Goshen Hospital, from injuries of an accident earlier that day.
He was born Aug. 7, 2009, in LaGrange to Christy F. and Lorraine V. (Miller) Wingard. Surviving are his parents; brothers Jerold Luke Wingard and Zachary Drew Wingard; sister Jaida Hope Wingard; grandparents Freman J. and Leora Wingard of Shipshewana and Vernon A. and Marilyn Miller of Millersburg; and great-grandparents Albert E. and Rosa Mullet of Millersburg.
Kendon was a little boy full of life and was very excited to start attending first grade at Brookside School.
Visitation will be all day Monday at the family residence, 10265 W. U.S. 20. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Richard Miller home, 10375 W. U.S. 20. Bishop Ernie Troyer and the home ministers will officiate. Burial will be in Naylor Cemetery.

SALEM - Harry Witmer, 81, passed away early Thursday morning, April 7, 2016, at Salem Regional Medical Center. Mr. Witmer was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Dayton, Va., a son of the late Merle and Annie (Rhodes) Witmer. He was a well-known farmer and carpenter. Harry was a member of the Salem Mennonite Church. Born in Ephrata Twp., she was the daughter of the late Isaac W. and Katie (Oberholtzer) Sensenig. Her husband, Roy G. Witmer, died in 1984.
Kathryn worked for 29 years at the former Allen G. Musser appliance and hardware store in Bowmansville. Later she volunteered and worked for several years at the Ephrata Re-Uzit Store.
She was a member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church where she was active with the Sewing Circle and as a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth R., married to Lorraine (Landis) Witmer of East Earl, Dale E., married to Susan (Siomko) Witmer of Ephrata, and Robert L., married to Janice (Horning) Witmer of Clearfield; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are two sister and two brothers, Loretta Sensenig, Amos Sensenig, Dorothy Leid, and Isaac Sensenig.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18 at 10 am at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl, PA 17519 with Pastor Larry Weber and Pastor Harold Eberly officiating. Elsie was a woman of many talents \'96 She and Lloyd were known by many customers and friends at Wolgemuth Fruit Market in Mount Joy. For years she supplied the market with her homemade bread, pies, and fudge. She was a tailor and seamstress as a home business, had a long tenure as a Sunday school teacher, was greatly involved with church planting locally with the Marietta Chapel, a constant communicator with missionary families all over the world, and for the last 30 years, she wrote a weekly letter and email to a long address list, calling it the Saturday Night Blessing. Elsie was a prayer warrior and dedicated her life to the wellbeing of others.
Elsie will be greatly missed by her 2 daughters and 3 sons, M Louise Wolgemuth, Manassa, CO, James L (Sherry) Wolgemuth, John D (Companion Anita Mohler) Wolgemuth, C Ellen (Rick) Rinier, all of Mount Joy, PA and Herbert R (Martha) Wolgemuth of Harleysville, PA. Elsie adored her family including her 14 grandchildren and their spouses and 23 great-grandchildren. Elsie will also be missed by her sister, Bertha M Shelly. We love our Aunt Bertha and owe her so much for sharing her home with our mom for the last 11 years since Dad is gone. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Harold Myer and Elmer Myer.

Wyse, Deloris "Dee" M. Short, 87, of Archbolds, Fulton Co., OH died December 31, 2016 at the same place. She was born May 10, 1929 at Pettisville, Fulton Co., OH to Cletus and Mary (Wyse) Short. On August 17, 1952 she was married to Marvin "Tex" J. Wyse, who was born November 12, 1927 and survives.
Surviving are children, Max (Michelle), Lonnie (Bonnie) and Mark Wyse; ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Doris, Dee’s twin sister, (Andrew) King, Evelyn (Wesley) Wyse and a sister-in-law, Ilva Short.
Three brothers, Dale, Willard “Bill” and Walt Short preceded her in death.
Dee worked at Lugbill’s, Delta Livestock, Lantz’s Store in Pettisville and was a bookkeeper for Rupp Lumber Company. Since retirement Tex and Dee spent 13 summers helping at Prairie Bee Camp in Ontario, Canada, and later spent summers on the staff at Little Eden Camp for 12 years, in Onekama, MI where they helped with retreats. She was an active member of Central Mennonite Church near Archbold.

WEST UNITY, Ohio - Virgie Lucile Wyse, 93, formerly of the Stryker and Archbold areas, passed away Friday morning, July 15, at her home in rural West Unity.
She was born Sept. 2, 1922, at Archbold, the daughter of Myron and Herma (Short) Schmucker.
She married Mahler J. Wyse on Nov. 25, 1941, and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2003.
A Stryker resident for many years, she moved to Archbold in 1996. She was a homemaker, an excellent seamstress, unrivaled cook and avid quilter. She was faithful in her attendance at the quilts at Care and Share in Archbold as long as she was able.
She was a member of the Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker, where she served the Lord in many capacities. It was one of her great joys. She was caretaker of many, including her father, her mother-in-law, her husband, and all of her children and grandchildren. She aided anyone in need.
She is survived by five children, Dana Stalter of Nappanee, Jeannie (Allen) Stuckey of Goshen, Tom (Dawn) Wyse of Archbold, Edwin (Joyce) Wyse of West Unity and Anne (Mike Towne) Bok of Stryker; a daughter-in-law, Becky (Jeff) Rupp of Wauseon; 21 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Maurice (Ruth) Schmucker of Archbold and Walter (Vera) Schmucker of Goshen; two sisters, Jean (Virgil) Eddy of Barnesville, and Anna Rose Fuentes, Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Philip “Fox” Wyse; a son-in-law, Larry Stalter; two grandchildren, Roger Stalter and Frankie Wyse; and three sisters, Nellie Wyse, Bessie King, and Mary Beck.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Lockport Mennonite Church with Pastors Steve Heatwole and Dee Custar officiating. Interment will follow in the Lockport Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 18.
